Saretta Fielding Art and Design

Our team were fortunate to work again with Saretta Fielding Art & Design

Working with John and Saretta is always a treat and this time we were lucky enough to supply and install some of her artwork at the UAA buildings in Newcastle and Biraban Primary School.

UAA interior privacy screens

We installed privacy screens in both of the offices for UAA. One using Hexis printable etch and the other on normal vinyl. They made such a difference to the room, bright, bold colours filled the walkways and created a feeling of warmth.

Biraban Primary School

At the school we installed these brilliant artworks on the bottom glass panels at the entrance of the school rooms. Not great on the knees but totally worth it once you look back and see these artworks filling the surroundings.

At the front entrance as you walk in, you are also greeted with another one of Saretta’s artworks. Once again the beautiful colours are so pleasing as you walk in and make it such a welcoming environment.

Saretta Fielding, Profile

Saretta Fielding, is a Wonnarua woman of the Upper Hunter Valley through her grandmother and an Anaiwan women of the New England area through her grandfather.

The land of the Wonnarua is located in the Hunter Valley of NSW and stretches from the Liverpool ranges in the north to Wollombi in the south and east from Sandy Hollow and Merriwa, across to the western fringes of the Barrington tops.

She has lived in NSW all her life and has strong connections across country, holding strong family and community ties throughout the state. Her connections link into Worimi, Awabakal and Darkinjung tribal groups, as she lives and works closely across our communities over many years.  Saretta has also worked across the State and Nationally both in Aboriginal Not for Profits .

Her love of culture, country and community are reflected within her work.  Saretta’s passion is to share her unique and invaluable culture through authentic, engaging and thought evoking fine artwork and visual design that welcomes all and enhances connection to spirit and country.

Building connections to create initiatives in the arts that contribute to closing the gap is a high value for me.  I have been involved in reconciliation since it’s inception through Reconciliation Australia and see the ongoing benefit RAP brings as we share and gain understanding together.

My artworks are reflective in style to many traditional sand engravings found throughout Wonnarua country and the Hunter Region and are connected to country in style and design through the use of a sand based medium and engraving technique. The highly textured pieces embody the age-old sandstone engraved artworks created by our ancestors and add a unique dimension to the works..

Hunter Water Board Bowling Club wall graphic

We brought a bit of nostalgia to the Hunter Water Board Bowling Club by installing a wall graphic of the original image of the club.

As you enter the club or stand at the bar, you can step back in time and appreciate how far the club has come over the years

hunter water board wall graphic

We took the original image from a slide, yep a slide, applied some fancy editing and printed onto Avery wall media. We love it and so do the club.

The Water Board Bowling Club has been trading for 45 years. Originally formed by Hunter District Water Board (Now Hunter Water) for the benefit of it's employees.

The original Clubhouse was a former Hunter District Water Board residence at Cardiff and was due for demolition. However someone at the time made a wise decision that it was cheaper to transport the building, than to demolish it.

Transported by truck to it’s present site perched high on the hill in Compton Street at North Lambton with views towards Mayfield, the Water Board Bowling Club is a fabulous venue for private functions, a beer on the balcony, good affordable quality food, great raffles and of course bowls.

McCarroll's Newcastle wall print

McCarrolls Newcastle came to us with this brilliant blank canvas inside their new showroom at Broadmeadow.

If you have ever thought about adding a picture onto your wall but are unsure, this will definitely make your decision very easy.

The wall is a massive 9m long by 4m high in size making a great blank canvas. We were supplied the image by McCarroll’s which was of the iconic shoreline from Merewether Beach to Dixon Park Beach in Newcastle.

The calm, blue and grey pallet of the beach image sets a relaxed feeling for the space.

To get this great result we printed on the Epson digital printer onto an Avery wall media.

Social distancing decals

Keep your distance

One way to slow the spread of viruses, such as coronavirus, is social distancing (also called physical distancing).

The more space between you and others, the harder it is for the virus to spread.

We can help you communicate social distancing measures with custom engaging floor decals. Place decals 1.5 metres apart for people to keep a safe distance.

Can be applied to different surfaces.

In public

Social distancing in public means people:

  • stay at home and only go out if it is absolutely essential

  • keep 1.5 metres away from others

  • avoid physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses

  • use tap and go instead of cash

  • travel at quiet times and avoid crowds

  • avoid public gatherings and at risk groups like older people

  • practise good hygiene

Use your School mascots to spread the message

A more cheerful approach to express your personal message

In schools

If your child is sick, they must not go to school or childcare. You must keep them at home and away from others.

To reduce the spread of viruses or germs in schools:

  • wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser when entering school, and at regular intervals

  • stop activities that lead to mixing between classes and years

  • avoid queuing

  • cancel school assemblies

  • have a regular handwashing schedule

  • regularly clean and disinfect surfaces that many people touch

  • conduct lessons outdoors where possible

  • consider opening windows and adjusting conditioning for more ventilation

  • promote strictest hygiene among food preparation (canteen) staff and their close contacts

Family Crest Proudly Restored

We stepped into this glorious mansion and had the pleasure of installing custom routed family crests to various parts of the residence.

Restored from a hand painted artwork our client had commissioned years earlier, we took a high resolution photo of the artwork and tweaked it a little , so we could create these beautiful Family Crests.

Family Crest

Custom made from original hand painted design

Mounted on the walls or hung over the beds, with routed perspex panels they adorned the family bedroom walls. There was a sense of great pride, once they were installed when you entered the rooms.

Elegant privacy screens were applied in the wet area with the addition of the family crests as well. Matched with the marvel tiles these really looked amazing.

Nazareth Aged Care door decals

Need to escape or just need a different view? Think Beautiful Doors

These decals are the ideal way to bring some life to your rooms. At Nazareth Aged Care each ward had their own unique door decal which we applied to the patients rooms, so they would be able to identify their rooms easier. Much better than a boring, plain painted door.

We digitally printed our images onto a removable Avery specialty media, laminated for easy cleaning and hard wearing.

Along with the doors for each wing we also installed some beautiful wall murals to particular sections of the facility. Images of local surrounding areas around the Lake were used to add some peace and beauty to the stark white walls.

Thank you for the wonderful application of the graphic at the end of the hallway it looks fantastic and we have lots of positive comments

Where should you go for branding?

The obvious place is Think Graphic Communication

Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for people to notice you

Everything from your business cards to your building signage or even branded environment projects. Our team will design artwork to show you what the finished product will look like and make it work for you over a variety of applications. Print, embroidery, online, signs or vehicles.

RTC grand entrance

What a grand site as you step out of the elevator at the RTC building in Newcastle!

This brilliant timeline was designed by local designer, and good friend of ours Josh Vincent.

It depicts the early years of The RTC group showing classic images of Richard Claut as a younger lad, through to today. It is amazing how far you have come, and you just don't appreciate it until it is shown to you. And what a stylish way to show the world.

Design Aspects

To complete this wall art we printed the supplied artwork onto wall paper vinyl, preparing the wall first of course, and added a third dimension mounting the brushed aluminium RTC logo off the wall with stand-offs.

The black and white images contrast greatly with the RTC yellow which leads you throughout the timeline.

This was just the finishing touch to the office space for Rich and his crew

Komatsu interior decor

Komatsu was looking for a way to make their offices, although they were neat, a little more interesting for the workers and visitors.

So that is where we stepped in.

Working with the team from Komatsu was great, they were so helpful with anything. They wanted a way to showcase some of their machinery and branded imagery around the office walls, creating some movement and colour to the office environment.

We worked with various materials such as etch vinyl, perpex panels, wall paper vinyl to create different moods at various locations around the walls and glass doors

Frosted Glass Artwork

Such a nice look - rugged, industrial images displayed around the office walls and glass doors.

This image was printed on etch vinyl and applied to the glass doors to the staff room.

An excellent way to provide privacy and showcase some branding ideas.

Front Counter Sign

What a great idea - a DNA timeline!

This sign was applied on clear perspex with a matte finish for a clean, non reflective finish, and mounted off the wall with stand-offs.

Interesting and informative, making a boring wall inspiring, considering this is the first thing you see as you enter the reception

Complete hallway canvases

We brought some life to the pure white office with this awesome shot of the mining trucks.

Once you walk down the 6m long hallway you feel like you need to dust yourself off. Wrapping the image around the wall with wall paper created such a great impact, as you walked into the office you got that initial wow factor, as well as finishing off the look neatly.

Komatsu had this brilliant shot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which just had to be put on display, so once again we wallpapered this space. The blue pops across the room, creating a calm feel in the office. The gentleman that worked at that station loved the look.
